ブラジル – スポーツ賭博の税率が引き上げられる可能性がある

According to local press the Finance Ministry of Brazil may have raised the proposed tax rate for its online sports betting bill by 1% to 16% tax on gross gaming revenue (GGR), as opposed to the 15% as initially outlined.

Sources from the Finance Ministry told news outlet Globo said that the increase of one percentage point in the tax rate have been put in place after talks with the Minister of Sports, アナ・モーザー. The additional income will be used to promote grassroots sports

According to new plans 2.55% of the 16% will be used for the National Public Security Fund. 0.82% will be allocated to funding primary schools. 1.63% will be awarded to sports clubs in return for rights to use logos and names. 10% will go to Social Security and 1% will go to the Ministry of Sports.

In addition the Ministry of Finance is also looking at setting up a new government department called the Secretariat of Gambling and Lotteries, which will be responsible for the licensing and supervision of the newly regulated industry. This new department will be funded by a share of licence fees once sportsbetting is underway.
